Tele-surgery

What is it?

The tele-surgery service provides virtual, online consultations prior to general surgery.

Who is it for?

Tele-surgery consultations are for anyone preparing for surgery who does not require an in-person meeting.

Where is it offered?

This service is available in each community through the CMCs.

What is it like?

An appointment for a virtual meeting will be booked. Then, when you go to the CMC for your meeting, you will be met by the Specialized Services Officer, who will set you up for your online meeting with the surgeon. Usually this meeting takes place within a month before surgery.

How long does it last?

Most tele-surgery meetings last approximately 10 minutes.

How can I get this service?

You will be directed to this service by your CMC, if you require surgery.

Where can I learn more?

For more information, talk to your local physician or a nurse at the CMC.
