Denise Perusse, Coordinator - Uschiniichisuu, Chisasibi CMC

Denise Perusse has been Interim Coordinator of Uschiniichisuu Services since July 2023. She has joined the Cree Board of Health in 2014, where she has worked primarily in management positions. These include the positions of Birth Home Coordinator and Awash Services Coordinator.

During the July 2023 Forest Fire outbreak, Denise held the position of on-site evacuation coordinator based in Quebec City. Throughout her tenure at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay, Denise has held progressively responsible roles, demonstrating her proficiency in program management, team collaboration, and effective client support.

Denise is known for her positive approach to problems and her constant search for creative solutions.

With a background in Social Sciences with a focus on Child Studies, Denise has continuously pursued professional development opportunities, including specialized training in areas such as community addictions, mental health first aid, and management. Her educational journey underscores her dedication to delivering comprehensive healthcare services.

Denise is particularly passionate about integrating culture, values, and traditions into healthcare programs and services. Her ability to adapt to change, promote Cree culture and language, and coordinate on-site operations during critical phases such as evacuations further exemplifies her qualifications for her role. 

She took up her position on February 26, 2024.
