CBHSSJB Chairperson Bertie Wapachee discusses SRP process with Luke Macleod on JBCCS
Coming together to plan the future of Eeyou/Eenou health and social services
The current 2016-2021 Strategic Regional Plan (SRP) is coming to an end and it is time to create a new 2023-2029 SRP.
WHAT IS THE SRP?
The SRP describes what we are expected to achieve and the measures we will use to demonstrate if we have succeeded or not. It sets the direction for our organization by providing the strategic orientations and identifying priorities for the next 6 years.
The SRP will be the basis for negotiation of the next Health Agreement with the Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec (MSSS).
GUIDING PRINCIPLE FOR THE NEW SRP
Here at the CBHSSJB, we envision our communities in Eeyou Istchee striving to achieve Miyupimaatisiiun that is reflective of Nishiiyuu.
Miyupimaatisiiun is achieving a balance of all the parts of ourselves:
- emotional
- physical
- mental
- spiritual
We envision all community members achieving this balance.

PATHWAY TO THE 2023-2029 SRP
To move towards greater Miyupimaatisiiun together, the CBHSSJB needs to create an SRP based on the expectations of Eeyou Eenou for health and well-being. Therefore, the voice of the Eeyou Eenou will lead its creation.
We want to hear your perspectives, suggestions and priorities to help create the new SRP and to help build the most progressive Eeyou Eenou health and social services.
Over the next few months, the CBHSSJB will provide opportunities to hear your voice and capture your input:
- online survey
- discussions with local community members and groups
- a regional health assembly
Timeline
- Summer – Fall 2022: Online survey and community tour will gather input from community members and partners.
- Winter 2023: Regional assembly will consolidate input from the consultation phase.
- Spring 2023: SRP to be presented to the Board of Directors for approval
- Summer 2023: Negotiations begin with the MSSS on a new Health Funding Agreement
Keep an eye out for future updates!
