Food Recall – Mexican-Style Street Corn Salad Black Bean 6 layer Dip, Avocado Ranch Chop Kits and Southwest Salad Kits
There is a recall of corn salad kits produced by President’s Choice and Taylor Farms, and Rojo’s brand black bean 6 layer dip and Dole brand and President's Choice brand Salad Kits due to possible listeria contamination.
Do not eat, serve, use, sell or distribute the corn salad kits with best before dates up to and including February 19 2024. Do not eat, serve, use, sell or distribute black bean 6 layer dip with best before dates of February 6, 14, 23, 29, and March 7, 14 and 15 2024. Do not eat, serve, use, sell or distribute the avocado ranch chop kits and the southwest salad kits with best before dates of February 18 and 20.
The affected products are recalled because of possible contamination by listeria monocytogenes. The products are made using cheese recalled by Rizo-Lopez Foods in a U.S. outbreak investigation.
Food contaminated with by listeria may not look or smell spoiled but it can still make you sick. If you have eaten the recalled products and have gastro-like symptoms - call your CMC.
Symptoms can include:
- Vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness
Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may develop serious and potentially deadly infections.
If you have gastro-like symptoms, don’t handle food. The bacteria can easily spread through food to people. Wash your hands often.
