Support Program for the Autonomy of Seniors (SAPA) ensures that vulnerable elders of Eeyou Istchee live in a beautiful family and home like environment that responds to their needs and to the families’ expectations.
The SAPA Department overlooks the Elder’s home (current and upcoming) as well as the Ashuukin Services.
Available Services
Elders' Home
Currently, the services for Elders’ home in Chisasibi are being provided in the MSDC building at 26 Salt Road.
The Elders’ Home is a a 13-bed assisted living and nursing home. The residence welcomes everyone from Eeyou Istchee.
Ashuukin Services
For semi-autonomous adults
Ashuukin Services (Waswanipi) is a family, home and community-like environment for semi-autonomous individuals.
What is coming
For adults with loss of autonomy, one Elders’ Home in each of the following communities:

SAPA – renaming contest
The CBHSSJB is pleased to announce that we are seeking an official name for our SAPA Services (SAPA= Soutien à l'autonomie des personnes âgées) that will be meaningful and reflective of the CHBSSJB principles consistent with the Cree culture such as honesty, loving, caring and sharing.
We are asking community members to propose names to this Form:

A selection committee will review the submissions and determine a top 3. The community will then vote to select a final name among the 3.
The winner will receive the "Gift Bundle", $1000 worth of gift cards from various stores (Cabelas, Costco, Local Grocery Store of choice, etc.)
