Leslie Tomatuk, Local Director - Eastmain CMC

The Eastmain Miyupimaatisiiun Centre is pleased to welcome Leslie Tomatuk as the new Local Director, Eastmain CMC. She has been the Interim Local Director of Eastmain CMC since July 2023.

Leslie has 15 years of management experience with the Cree Board of Health honed over by the various positions she has held with the Cree Board of Health. She has previously served as Interim Local Director for Waswanipi CMC, Awash Coordinator, Advisor – Management Development.

Leslie also has extensive experience working with communities, building resources and relationships with local leadership. and community resources. She has a reputation for crisis management, leadership and team motivation and is known as a community and family centered professional.

Her long-standing commitment with the Cree Board of Health has enabled her to develop an excellent understanding of contemporary First Nations health and social services issues. These include the quality assurance of cultural safety in the workplace and services.

Leslie holds a bachelor of arts degree in indigenous studies from Trent university and a diploma in health and social services management from McGill University. She also earned diplomas in Law and Security Administration and in the Correctional Worker Program from Sir Stanford Fleming College.

Leslie took up her position on April 1, 2024.
