Food Recall Advisory – Cantaloupe and other pre-cut fruit

There is a recall for whole and pre-cut cantaloupe and fruit trays from the Malachita and Rudy brands due to a risk of salmonella contamination.

Any cantaloupe (whole or pre-cut), pineapple, honeydew melon and watermelon from the Malachita and Rudy brands bought between October 10 and November 24, 2023 should be thrown out. They should not be eaten.

If people aren’t sure what brand of cantaloupe they bought, Health Canada says they should throw it out as a precaution.

Other pre-cut fruit (such as in a fruit plate or fruit salad) may have been contaminated if they were prepared with these cantaloupes. As a precaution, please consider throwing out pre-cut fruits bought between October 10 and November 24, 2023.
