Following the last Board of Directors in March of 2025 and in effect since June 1, 2025, the Cree NIHB program has been updated.

The Cree Non-Insured Health Benefits (Cree NIHB) program provides eligible Cree, First Nations and Inuit beneficiaries with coverage for a range of health benefits, including drugs and pharmacy products, dental care, vision care, hearing care, medical supplies and equipment, medical transportation, emergency mental health counselling and more.

The program sets out for eligible persons to benefit from whichever benefit is most generous through either the provincial or federal programs, with some exceptions.
