Regarding the Elevator Area on the 6th Floor

Recently, concerns were raised about a visible gap on the wall  near the elevator area on the 6th floor. We want to assure everyone that the issue does not pose any threat to the safety of our clientele or elevator use.

The situation was already identified in the 2024 structural report and is related to a dilatation joint (or “control joint”), which is essentially a normal gap between building sections, likely affected by past construction nearby. Building management will address the issue during their upcoming maintenance work, which is expected to be completed by early summer 2025. We have requested detailed information on their repair plan and are closely monitoring the area as part of our routine building oversight. 

Renovation Progress

Good news! Many phases of the renovation project in the areas used by our clients have been completed.  While some minor disruptions may occur, we are dedicated to minimizing any inconvenience. As part of this work, here is   a list of tasks which will be completed by the summer of 2025: 

  • Renovation work in the Lobby: floor covering, Installation of a drywall partition along the column axis between the dining room and the Saint-Laurent Room;
  • Construction of a new community kitchen on the 3rd floor;
  • Modifications for the addition of adapted rooms on the 3rd floor;
  • Replacement of floor finishes inside the rooms on the 3rd floor;
  • Replacement of floor and wall finishes on the 3rd floor;
  • Replacement of floor and wall finishes on the 6th floor;
  • Installation of a drywall partition with a double emergency-type door on the 7th floor;
  • Replacement of floor and wall finishes in the new administrative wing on the 7th floor.
