"Sur le terrain": A Glimpse into the work of indigenous health workers

The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay is honoured to be featured in season 2 of the documentary series Sur le terrain. Produced by Kassiwi Média, this series highlights the efforts and challenges faced by Indigenous health and social service workers. 

Content

In January, the production team from Kassiwi Média followed Dr. Sandrine Filiatrault (Huron-Wendat Nation) as she worked at the CMC in Wemindji. Rachel Danyluk was also interviewed, and viewers will also see other members of the CMC team and clients who shared their own realities on screen. 

About the series 

Sur le terrain explores the challenges faced by Indigenous service providers while also showcasing their successes and unique approaches. Season 2 will shed light on the various cultural and social realities that Indigenous workers face and navigate on a daily basis. 

Whether they are doctors, nurses, social workers, or support workers, these frontline health professionals will inspire audiences with their practices that centre on the needs, values, rights, and cultural identities of their First Nations, Métis, and Inuit patients.

  • French version (with Indigenous language subtitles): Every Friday from January 10 to April 4, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. (Eastern Time). 

  • English-subtitled version: Every Friday from January 10 to April 4, 2025, at 8:30 p.m. (Eastern Time). 

  • Innu dubbed version: Every Wednesday from January 15 to April 9, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. (Eastern Time). 

The series will also be available for streaming on the APTN LUMI platform:
