Public message of condolence

The Board of Directors, management and Public Health Department of the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay extend our deepest condolences to the families and communities of four people who have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 during the Omicron outbreak in Eeyou Istchee.

We share the sadness of losing such cherished members of the Cree Nation because of COVID-19 related causes. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends and communities who have lost loved ones during this difficult time.

The Omicron outbreak has heavily impacted Eeyou Istchee and the Cree Nation this winter. The Cree Health Board would like to remind everyone that support is available. The Wiichihiiwaauwin Helpline is open 24/7 to anyone who wants to call and talk to someone.
