Content

Bella started her career at the CBHSSJB in 1999, first in General Management and then starting up and eventually running the administrative unit in Public Health before returning to studies to become a nurse. She was an inspiration to many people throughout our organization. At the time of her passing, Bella was in palliative care at the Hospital. She passed away in the Chisasibi Hospital on Saturday, June 12, 2021.

Bella was a loving, caring and humorous caregiver, friend and coworker. She will be mourned and deeply missed across Eeyou Istchee, and we keep her in our hearts.

Reggie Tomatuk shared a memory that will resonate with everyone who knew her. "Whenever she was around we were able to hear her miles away, her laughter was so contagious and humorous."

On behalf of the whole organization in Chisasibi and throughout Eeyou Istchee, we express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Bella Blacksmith.

We will inform you about Bella's funeral service in the coming days.

Friends and coworkers of Bella Blacksmith are encouraged to reach out for support at this difficult time. To speak to a counsellor:
