New Higher Education Opportunity for Cree Beneficiaries
The CBHSSJB has partnered with the Cree School Board Department of Higher Learning and the Department of Social Work at McGill university to offer a special opportunity to Cree beneficiaries interested in becoming social workers.
We are thrilled to announce a new initiative making studying social work accessible to more community members. A new 90-credit online program will be available, to be completed on a part-time or full-time basis. Students can fulfill this course in either 3 or 6 years depending on which path they choose, and graduate with an undergraduate degree in social work. The program has been tailored specifically for a Cree context, and aims to support students staying in their community.
Tuition will be paid, and students will receive the loan of a laptop throughout their studies. Financial assistance can also be granted to full-time students, and support will be provided from registration until graduation.
