Mr. Alan Moar: A Lifetime of Dedication and Service
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Moar, a devoted manager of the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). Over more than two decades, Alan managed frontline health and social services at both local and regional levels, leaving a lasting mark on the communities he served.
Alan began his journey initially as Director of Inland CLSC services, based in Mistissini, and later as Local Director of the Waswanipi CMC. His unwavering commitment to improving the socio-economic circumstances of First Nations communities in Quebec and Canada was truly remarkable. Most recently, he served as the Local Director of Mistissini CMC.
Beyond his professional roles, Alan was a pillar of the community. He served as an Aboriginal Shield trainer for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and explored diverse fields, including engineering, law, management, and even piloting.
As we bid farewell to Alan, we extend our heartfelt wishes for peaceful rest and eternal skies. His impact will continue to resonate in the lives he touched.
Our deepest condolences go to Alan Moar’s family, friends, and coworkers during this difficult time.
