Johnny Trapper, Coordinator of Administrative unit - Nemaska
The Director of the Nemaska CMC is pleased to announce the appointment of Johnny Trapper as Administrative Unit Coordinator.
Johnny Trapper brings a wealth of multi-disciplinary experience to the Cree Board of Health, including human resources, financial management, planning and monitoring.
He joins the organisation from the Mistissini Police Force/Cree Regional Authority, where he's held the positions of police officer, investigator, acting director, and Cree Regional Coordinator of Cree Policing. His tenure allowed him to gain significant insight into the frontline work of the Community Service.
Previously, Johnny served in management capacities with the Cree Nation Government as the director of office and personnel, human resources director and Cree policing coordinator. As a former policeman in his home community Mistissini, his contribution was commended by the itinerant court. Johnny also helped immensely with the creation of the Eenou Eeyou Police Force. He also gained experience as the housing director with the Cree Nation of Nemaska.
He has a certificate in administration from the University of Sherbrooke and a certificate in communications and a police diploma from the Ecole nationale de police du Quebec.
Johnny started his position on December 2.
