Inauguration of Piipiichaau Uchishtuun (Robin’s Nest) in Waswanipi
The Piipiichaau Uchishtuun (Robin’s Nest) Women's Shelter in Waswanipi was formally inaugurated at a ceremony which took place on Monday, September 25, 2017.
This project is a collaboration between the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) and Cree Nation Government (CNG). Piipiichaau Uchishtuun (Robin’s Nest) will support essential services to Cree women in Eeyou Istchee. CBHSSJB, CNG and Quebec government officials joined in this special occasion. Community members also took part in this community celebration.
Piipiichaau Uchishtuun (Robin’s Nest) Women's Shelter offers the following services:

● Culturally safe healing
● Linkages with other available services in the region
