Honouring a Legacy, Welcoming New Leadership

Under Mr. St-Amour’s leadership, the CBHSSJB experienced transformative growth. He championed key initiatives that strengthened partnerships with political bodies across Eeyou Istchee, Quebec, and Canada, and prioritized patient safety through innovations such as charter flights and mobile hospital units—services will continue to benefit our communities. His legacy is one of vision and lasting impact.

As we look ahead, we are proud to announce that Ms. Christina Biron will serve as Interim Executive Director, effective September 20, 2025. A respected Cree leader and current AED of Miyupimâtisîun, Ms. Biron brings a deep understanding of our communities, a strong commitment to cultural relevance, and a leadership style rooted in collaboration and empowerment. Her experience leading the largest department in the organization has prepared her well to guide us through this transition, while empowering Eeyou Istchee through self-determination and governance.

Joining her in new leadership roles:

  • Holly Danyluk as Interim AED of Miyupimâtisîun
  • Nancy Shecapio Blacksmith as Interim Proximity Director, Waskaganish Pole

We remain committed to transparency, stability, and the continued delivery of high-quality services. Please join us in expressing heartfelt thanks to Mr. St-Amour and in congratulating Ms. Biron, Ms. Danyluk and Ms. Shecapio Blacksmith as they step into their new roles.
