Gemma Acco, Assistant Director – Regional Hospital in Chisasibi

Gemma joined CBH in 2021 in the Human Resources Department, first as an Advisor in Labor Relations and then with Health and Safety to help launch the Work Attendance Management and Support Program. Since January 2024, she has served as the Interim Assistant Director of the Regional Hospital.

Gemma has shown herself to be adaptable, resilient, articulate and committed to personal growth. She has also demonstrated a strong commitment and unwavering dedication to the well-being of the Cree communities served by CBH.

Gemma is a member of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation of Saskatchewan. She is also a member of the Law Society of Ontario and holds a Bachelor of Law and Juris Doctor degrees from McGill University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Concordia University. 

She is currently working towards earning a certificate in Human Resource Management from UQAT.

Gemma began her role on August 11.
