Summary

Contact tracing linked to a Nov. 27 banquet in Ottawa is complete. There is still only 1 case of COVID-19 related to this event.

  • More than 70 people have been called through contact tracing, which represents most people who attended the banquet.
  • About 50 people are isolating and have been tested, and may be required to do a 2nd test.
  • Public Health is waiting for results from testing done in Eeyou Istchee.

If you’re isolating in a region outside Eeyou Istchee, and you have been tested there, Public Health invites you to call the Info-Line at to share your test results. This will help advance the investigation.

1 case related to Espresso Hotel in Montreal

Cree Public Health was informed of a case of COVID-19 affecting a Wiichihiituwin employee at Espresso Hotel. They are isolating with precautionary measures in place. The case is being managed by Montéregie’s Public Health. Contact tracing is done, and all contacts have low exposure risk. All COVID-19 precautionary measures and protocols at Espresso Hotel are still in place to ensure a safe environment for patients, escorts and employees

Children’s Vaccination Campaign

The COVID-19 children’s vaccination campaign is underway in Eeyou Istchee. More than 700 children have been vaccinated with a 1st dose so far. The Cree Health Board encourages parents/guardians and grandparents to get the right information about vaccination, and talk about it with their families.
