During this special week, DPSQA – Psychosocial invites everyone across Eeyou Istchee to recognize the dedicated professionals who walk alongside our families, children, and communities every day.
MEET DAISY JOLLY GRANT
More Than a Service
In Eeyou Istchee, the role of a social worker carries a profound responsibility. Their work extends far beyond programs or administrative tasks. It is built on the foundation of relationships, deep listening, and being a steady presence when people need support the most. Whether they are sitting with a family during difficult moments, celebrating a hard-won step forward, or helping an individual rediscover their inner strength, our social workers are there. They help keep connections strong between people, families, culture, and community.
MEET DESIREE OTTEREYES
Guided by Values and Humility
This path requires patience, humility, and courage. It demands a deep respect for every person’s unique story and a commitment to the values that guide our communities. In many ways, social workers are helpers who walk with people on their journey toward Miyupimaatisiiun. They remind us all that true healing and wellbeing grow through relationships, care, and the collective strength we share.
