Roberta became a registered nurse in 2008 after graduating from Heritage College. She first began working in Ontario at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, gaining experience as a new graduate. While working full-time, she further pursued her nursing studies at the University of Ottawa. However, she felt the need to return home to give back to the community and all of Eeyou Istchee.

She joined the CBHSSJB in 2010 as a registered nurse in Chisasibi, at the hospital and CMC. Then, in 2011, she started working at the Mistissini CMC in Current Services and other departments. In 2014, she became a diabetes educator with the Public Health department, and soon became a Certified Diabetes Educator. She travelled to various communities offering training and support to other health care providers.

Now, after almost three years back in Mistissini's CMC in Current Services, she will embark on a new journey as Coordinator of Current Services, taking over the role from Martin Nyles, who retired recently.
