CBHSSJB acknowledged great collaboration with two key-collaborators from the MSSS
On Thursday, September 12, at the regular meeting of the Board of Directors held in Québec City, the President and the Executive Director of the CBHSSJB made a point of highlighting the significant collaboration of two ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) representatives as they both prepare to take on new roles within the MSSS and the Government of Québec.
Mr. Bertie Wapachee and Mr. St-Amour invited Mr. Desharnais, appointed Associate Secretary-General of the Executive Council of Quebec (former Associate Deputy Minister - Health and Social Services Network Coordination and Institutional Affairs), and Mrs. Geneviève Landry, appointed Assistant Deputy Minister for Elders and Care Givers (former Deputy Executive Director - Internal Coordination, Quality and Indigenous Affairs), to receive a heartfelt tribute for their commitment to supporting the CBHSSSJB in its many projects. Over the years, they both contributed to the development of the organization, its programs and services aimed at offering the best quality of care to the Cree Nation and accomplish the CBHSSJB mission which is: Individuals, families and communities strive to achieve Miyupimâtisîun reflective of Nishîyû.
I'd like to thank Mr. Desharnais and Ms. Landry for their openness and sensitivity to our culture, traditions and values, and their commitment to the uniqueness of our demands and expectations as progressive Indigenous health organization, said Mr. Wapachee.
The strong relationships we've developed with these valued partners have enabled us to further expand our organization and implement innovative projects such as the Physician Assistants pilot project, and support our new approach to reviewing the financing of our capital projects, explained Mr. St-Amour.
In accordance with Cree tradition, and to wish them all the best in their new roles, Mr. Wapachee took the opportunity to present them with gifts representative of Cree tradition and culture. Both Mr. Wapachee and Mr. St-Amour foresee the same trust and collaboration to continue with their successors among which is Mrs. Josiane Perreault, the director at the newly created Direction of First Nations and Inuit Relations and Partnerships (MSSS), who was also present at the event.
