Do Not Use Tap Water Advisory

A do not use water advisory is issued when there is a contaminant in the water that can’t be removed by boiling and is dangerous for the skin or other parts of the body.

It’s recommended to not use tap water at all for any purpose when this advisory is in effect. 

Avoid any contact with skin, eyes, or lungs (by breathing in water fumes). Do not use tap water for bathing.

DO NOT USE TAP WATER FOR:

  • Drinking water
  • Making tea or coffee
  • Washing fruits and vegetables
  • Preparing food
  • Mixing baby formula
  • Bathing and showering
  • Brushing teeth
  • Washing hands
  • Washing dishes by hand
  • Giving water to pets

USE BOTTLED OR FILTERED WATER

  • Bottled should be used for all activities listed above.  
  • Don’t use water or ice from machines with a direct line to the water supply, such as fridges, coffee makers, and soda dispensers.
