Conserve Water Advisory
A conserve water advisory may be called if there is a water supply shortage or during certain repairs to a community water network. Unless there is also another advisory in place, the water is safe to drink and use. However, you are asked to reduce the amount of water that you use until this advisory is over.

REDUCE the amount of water used for:
- Cooking
- Bathing and showering
- Brushing teeth
- Hand washing
- Laundry
- Washing dishes
- Housecleaning
- Gardening

AVOID non-essential tap water use for:
- Washing vehicles
- Power washing driveways, sidewalks and steps
- Watering lawns or gardens
TIPS TO REDUCE TAP WATER USE
- Take shorter showers
- Turn off the tap while brushing teeth or shaving
- Put a plastic bottle in the toilet tank to reduce water used to flush
- Avoid using toilet as an ashtray or wastebasket
- Run dishwasher and washing machine only when they’re full
- Defrost frozen food in the fridge instead of running water over it
- Turn off tap while washing dishes by hand
- Sweep your driveway, sidewalk and steps instead of power washing
Check your community’s Facebook pages, listen to the radio, or contact your PSO for updates about water advisories in effect.

Advisories inform people about potential issues with local drinking water sources and recommend precautions to protect their health.
