Due to a shortage of nursing staff, the walk-in clinic at the Waskaganish CMC will be suspended from Monday, June 27, 2022 until further notice.

Only appointments and emergencies will be attended to during normal working hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
After hours, contact the on-call nurse only if it is an emergency. Otherwise, call 811 Info-Santé.
Regular hours
Please call the medical secretary with your name and phone number and the reason for your call. A nurse will call you back.
If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency (e.g., difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, chest pain, seizures, trauma), please inform the medical secretary of the urgency of your call so she can direct your call to a nurse.
After hours
For life-threatening emergencies, please contact the nurse on-call.
For non-urgent health questions, please dial 811.
Pharmacy services
Kindly ensure to have all your medication refilled during regular hours with the pharmacy.
If you have a cold or stomach flu, please call the pharmacy during regular hours, they will be happy to serve you.
When to call 811 Info-Santé
Your child wakes up with a high fever and you are wondering if you should take them to the CMC;
You are wondering what to do in order to relieve itching and swelling caused by an insect bite;
You want to know if you can take both Tylenol or Advil at the same time;
You have questions about sexual transmitted infections;
You have questions about breastfeeding.
Province-wide nursing shortage
The province of Quebec is experiencing a severe nursing shortage, as is our local CMC.
We kindly ask you to be patient with the wait times and understand that our medical team is working hard to provide the best care to each and every one of our patients.
The CMC normally operates with 17 nurses; however, in the past several weeks we have been managing with only 8 or 9 nurses. In the next few days, the number of nurses will drop to only 3 to 5 nurses.
For this reason, walk-ins are suspended.
Nurses work from Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. They are on call after hours for emergencies only.
For any non-urgent matters, please call the clinic during opening hours or dial 811 to reach a qualified nurse will answer your questions.
Limiting nighttime calls to the on-call nurse helps ensure that they are well-rested and able to serve you during the day.
