During his career with the Cree Health Board, Alan managed frontline health and social services at the local and regional level. Initially as Director of Inland CLSC services, based in Mistissini, and later as Local Director of the Waswanipi CMC.

Alan joined the CBHSSJB in 1998, after many years dedicated to improving the socio-economic circumstances of First Nations’ in Quebec and Canada.

He was only 18 when he travelled to Florida to work on construction sites as a High Steel worker. After a few years, Alan returned to Canada, and took up progressively senior consulting and management positions in government and indigenous organizations, always dedicated to the wellbeing of First Nations.

During that time, he became an Aboriginal Shield trainer for the RMCP, and pursued opportunities to learn by taking courses in engineering, law, management and--looking skyward again--piloting.

We wish you well, Alan, happy adventures, and good health in your next chapter!
