Introducing the new Local Directors for Wemindji and Waswanipi

Rachel Danyluk is a professional with over 20 years’ experience as a clinical nurse. Driven by the desire to make a difference in her community, she will bring her frontline experience to the task of making improvements to the working environment and creating positive impacts in her community.  

Rachel joined the Talent Development program, an initiative from the Cree Succession Leadership Framework Program, in December 2017, and graduated with a Certificate in Health and Social Service Management from the McGill University in May 2020. In January 2020, she became interim Local Director in Wemindji.

Eleanor Gull began her professional career as a nurse in 2010 at Chisasibi Hospital. Later, she moved to her home community of Waswanipi, where she worked as a nurse with enlarged role. In July 2020, she became Coordinator of Awash and Uschiniichisuu departments of Waswanipi CMC. In November 2020, she became the interim Director of Waswanipi CMC.   

During Eleanor’s nursing career, she developed an interest in leadership and management. She enrolled in a Health and Social Services certificate program under the Cree Succession Leadership Framework, with McGill University, which she will complete in April 2021.  

Eleanor is an elected member of the Waswanipi Miyupimaatisiiun Committee and local Women's Association. “It is important for me to improve services for clients in partnership with internal and external collaborations,” said Eleanor.
